The Gunnison County Planning Commission will host a public hearing on Thursday, June 6 at 9 a.m. in the second-floor meeting room of the County’s Blackstock Building, 200 west Virginia Avenue, Gunnison to receive public input on the proposed Oh Be Joyful solar project south of Crested Butte near the Baxter Gulch trailhead. 

GMUG finalizes list of species of conservation concern

The US Forest Service released the regional forester’s final list of species of conservation concern this month associated with the Grand Mesa Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forest final revised plan. It was sent to all objectors in April, including Gunnison County commissioners, and it was signed on May 13. GUC gets parking fee schedule

Gunnison County commissioners earlier this year approved parking fees for the airport. Short-term paid parking will be $10 per day with free parking for 30 minutes, long-term paid public parking will be $100 per vehicle per 30-day period.

“Given all that has changed at the airport I think it’s time to have regulations that match the physical surroundings,” concluded commissioner Laura Puckett Daniels.
