Crested Butte Film Fest starts next week

More than 100 films will be screened during the 10th annual Crested Butte Film Festival, taking place virtually September 25 to October 4. CBFF’s line-up includes a diverse array of narrative, documentary, outdoor adventure, children’s and short films. This year’s festival also includes a number of films and live panel discussions on important topics such as suicide and racism, with a focus on how people can come together to solve these issues. CBMBA Group Ride and Party

Help CBMBA celebrate another awesome season of riding and trail work by joining us on a group ride! We will meet at the 4-way/Chamber at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 20 and pedal to Pt. Lookout and back, and you have the option to join for the full ride, jump in along the way, or branch off any time you’d like. After the ride, this year’s volunteers are invited to gather at Bonez from 4-6 p.m. to celebrate this year’s accomplishments with delicious snacks and notoriously strong margaritas and a raffle. Please RSVP to development@cbmba.org for the Volunteer Celebration at Bonez to help us prepare. Cart to Cart race this Saturday

The Camp 4 Coffee Cart to Cart trail races hosted by the Crested Butte Mountain Runners will take place on Saturday, September 19. Runners will have a choice of a long half-marathon (13+ miles) or a 19-mile course over dirt roads and single track trails on the route from Crested Butte to Crested Butte South. Each race will have an open start with runners leaving over a 30-minute period. The 19-mile race start will be from 7:30 to 8 a.m. at Rainbow Park in CB with the half marathon start following at about 8:20 a.m. from Brush Creek Road. Free entry to Mountain Heritage Museum exhibits all September

Thanks to a generous donation, you, your family and friends can visit the Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum exhibits for free for this month. The Mountain Heritage Museum is located at Fourth and Elk Avenue and is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. In the Galleries of the Gunnison Arts Center through October 16

Featured in the Gunnison Arts Center’s Main Gallery through October 16 is “Down the Rabbit Hole: A Collection of Whimsy and Wonder” by Kristin Gruenberger. This exhibit includes a collection of ceramic tableware and sculpture that will take the viewer down the rabbit hole and into a storybook. This collection will feature a variety of whimsical tea sets, drinking vessels, centerpieces, totem sculptures and ceramic toys. In the Upper Gallery, see the Six Points Art Show and Silent Auction “Rainbows in the Sky.” The artists of Six Points, men and women with disabilities, have created masterpieces of art expressing their own individuality and style using a variety of art mediums.
