Ready, Set…Just Add Snow!

Nordic Center is open for pass pick-up, ski service and retail
The CB Nordic Center is currently open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week to help you get set up for the season. Come by to pick up passes, drop off skis for service and check out our new retail offerings from Odlo, Swix, Skida and more! Take advantage of the Hot Box Special, just $35 until December 12.
We are currently only renting snowshoes; ski and boot rentals will be available when we have skiable trails in town. In the full swing of the season, please enter the warming house via the east door by the ice rink for ice skates, and the west door by the snow for skiing. Advanced reservations for rentals and day passes are highly encouraged and can be done by visiting cbnordic.org.

Skiing at Lily Lake
The early-season snow has made skiing possible up at Lily Lake. CB Nordic began grooming late last week, but there are still numerous early season hazards to watch out for. Please do not park in the county right-of-way (aka the side of the road). DO park at the Y and walk if your vehicle cannot successfully cross the culvert at the trailhead. Be respectful of all users and have fun out there.

Thanksgiving Camp
Even with low early season coverage, we are optimistic that we’ll be able to hold our Annual Thanksgiving Camp next week, from Thursday, November 24 – Sunday, November 27. Thursday kicks things off with a Round-Robin Refresher for skate skiers of all levels. Friday and Saturday we focus on short clinics for Beginner Skiers and all-day clinics for our Intermediate and Advanced Skiers. Kids Camp and the U16 Devo Camp are back again this year followed by our first race of the season in the Pinnacle Orthopedics Community Race Series on Sunday. Registration is still open, but closes November 21, so sign up soon!

Alley Loop registration time is now
Registration for this iconic race opened on November 1 with a 25% off early bird price. Rather than manage the staggered tiers of pricing over several months, we’ve decided to keep things simple which means registration goes up to full price on November 24. If you’re an annual racer or thinking of joining us in this classic bundle of fun, don’t delay, the time for registration is now.

Grand Traverse registration opens December 1
Athletes interested in racing the Grand Traverse Ski on April 2, 2023 will want to be ready to hit send on their registration at midnight on December 1 to claim a spot in this grueling, one of a kind, trans-mountain backcountry event. New this year, we are offering early registration for Charity Teams starting November 14. Stipulations include a commitment to raise $1K or more for your charity of choice. All aspects of charity registration and intention must be reviewed and approved by events director Becky Nation. NOTE: this is not a free registration, it is a priority registration and competitors are still responsible for the full race fee. Get ready, get set and get registered for your Grand Traverse experience!

Volunteers needed for youth programs
Are you or anyone you know interested in earning a free season pass by volunteering to mentor local youth this winter? CB Nordic is looking for volunteers to ski with our kiddos twice a week in our after-school programs. Earn unlimited access to our winter trails and support the development of our young people with just a few hours a week. Contact Alex Reidman at alex@cbnordic.org for more info.

The Nordic Center is located at Second and Whiterock in downtown Crested Butte. Please make all reservations in advance online at cbnordic.org.
