Early Grand Traverse registration

Race the Grand Traverse for a cause

Registration for the Gore-Tex Grand Traverse is open for charity team entrants. This early registration option is available only to teams committed to racing on behalf of a charity of their choice. This is the third year that the race has offered the charitable team entry option, with participation continually increasing each year.
Last year, 21 teams raised more than $40,000 for causes of their choosing. Each team commits to raising at least $1,500 to be eligible. A portion of the funds raised pays for the team’s race entry, while the remaining dollars go directly to the team’s chosen philanthropic cause.
This year, teams have already registered to race in support of the Telluride Animal Foundation and the Gunnison Valley Special Needs Network for Children.
Regardless of their motivations, every team entering the race is supporting the community, since the ski race is the primary fundraiser for Crested Butte Nordic, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Crested Butte Nordic encourages athletes seeking to race in 2014 to consider competing for a cause. Locate a local nonprofit partner in your community and get registered today. To secure a charitable team entry, email your team’s intention to info@elkmountainstraverse.com.
