The community at its best, helping Soo Bahk Do

Dear Editor:
The West Elk Soo Bahk Do board of directors would like to thank two very special restaurants in Crested Butte for their contributions to our school this Spring season.

On April 1, the Secret Stash hosted a benefit night where a portion of the proceeds was donated to the West Elk Soo Bahk Do School of Martial Arts. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Jeff and Kyleena and their staff for graciously and generously providing our students, instructors and their families with a fun and tasty dinner that ultimately helped our school.
On Wednesday May 20, the Brick Oven Pizzeria hosted another benefit night for West Elk Soo Bahk Do. We would like to thank Brian, Dan and their staff for this fabulous event. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the end of a class cycle and the achievements of the students of our great school.
One of basic tenets in the code of conduct of the Federation of Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan is that people are at their best when they are helping others. The generosity shown by the owners and staff at both the Stash and the Brick Oven was a shining example of this tenet. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts! Thank you to all the families and friends who attended these events and who continue to help support the students of our important school. What a wonderful and supportive community we have here in Crested Butte.

Sincerely,
Melissa Cunningham Lewis
WESBD Board of Directors
