Town Council election canceled
The t of Mt. Crested Butte won’t hold a Town Council election this year. The three incumbent councilmen—Andrew Gitin, David Clayton and Gary Keiser—who were up for reelection were the only three people to turn in petitions to put their respective names in the ring. All three will be sworn in to their old posts at a regular town council meeting on April 3.

 

Community Banks closing Mt. Crested Butte branch
NBH Holdings Corp., which acquired all three local Community Banks of Colorado branches last summer, announced that it would be closing its Mt. Crested Butte outlet April 13. The bank, located in the base area between the Mt. Crested Butte transit center and django’s, is consolidating its branches in the north end of the Gunnison Valley, according to Community Banks vice president Jeff Walker. Locally, Community Banks customers will still have access to branches in Crested Butte and Gunnison.
