Busy start to February

There should be no shortage of things to do this week. The mountains are packed with powder so be careful out there. And then enjoy the Alley Loop and all of its attractions or the annual Attitude Adjustment Party on Friday night or a quick-and-dirty Mardi Gras parade this Tuesday on Elk Avenue.

Flauschink button contest

It is that time of year. Artists, try your hand at making Crested Butte history and a big $50 check. Express your inner artist and design this year’s Flauschink button.  Be sure to include the word Flauschink and 2016. Please send entries to Sherrie Vandervoort at PO Box 152, CB. All entries should be in by February 28.

Adjust your attitude this Friday

One of the best parties of the winter season is this Friday. The Crested Butte Professional Ski Patrol is throwing the annual Attitude Adjustment Party at Butte 66 starting at 7 p.m. Raffles, live music and lots of your friends will be there to help raise money for some locals in need.

Backcountry Bistro at the Nordic Yurt on Sundays

This Sunday and every Sunday, CB Nordic hosts the Backcountry Bistro at Magic Meadows. Serving up hot and cold drinks, a warm fire, sweet treats, soup and local hospitali-tea! On the Nordic trail system at Magic Meadows Yurt. Sundays from 10-2. www.cbnordic.org.

Parties and celebration means changes to Mountain Express.

There’s a lot of stuff going on in the next week and as a result the Mountain Express will be adjusting its schedule. Changes will be made for the Ski Patrol Attitude Adjustment Party on Friday, the Alley Loop event all weekend and the Mardi Gras parade on Tuesday. If you want details, visit the website at www.mtnexp.org or call 349-5616.
