Candidates Forum set for October 20

One more person than there are seats

By Mark Reaman

Your chance to grill the candidates running for Crested Butte Town Council will be Sunday evening, October 20 starting at 6 p.m. at the Crested Butte Center for the Arts. The Crested Butte News will hold its regular Candidates Forum that Sunday after the Crested Butte Community School break and a couple of days after the last of the mail ballots should be received by voters.

While Jim Schmidt is running unopposed for the mayoral position, there are six candidates running for five open council seats. Laura Mitchell, Will Dujardin, Candice Bradley, Mallika Magner, Anne Moore and Monique Merrill are all vying to spend every other Monday night talking about Brush Creek—or park improvements or how best to spend tax dollars. It is an important job and we thank all of them for stepping up to help guide the town.

KBUT plans to broadcast the event live. But this is the chance for any interested citizen to stand up and personally ask those in the race any question.
