Loss of control around a curve
by Mark Reaman
A 35-year-old local resident died Sunday afternoon in a dirt bike accident up Cement Creek Road. Patrick Fesenmyer was apparently dirt biking alone about 1:55 p.m. Sunday afternoon when he was involved in the crash. Officers were dispatched to the scene about 2 p.m.
According to the Mt. Crested Butte police department, there were no eyewitnesses to the accident although the person who reported the crash said he heard a motorcycle “screaming” up the road and then heard a crash. The crash is believed to have been caused due to a loss of control while coming around a curve in the road. The accident occurred at mile marker 3 on County Rd 740. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Our condolences go out to his family and friends.
