A 42-year-old Crested Butte man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his home on Friday, July 27. Crested Butte Marshals responded to a residence on the northeast side of town after an emergency 911 call.
According to Crested Butte Assistant Chief Marshal Ted Conner, the call came in about 2 p.m.
“On arrival, the officers determined that a 42-year-old Crested Butte man was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Upon further investigation, it was determined that no foul play was involved,” he said.
Gunnison County Coroner Frank Vader who also responded to the scene, confirmed the cause of death was a suicide.
