Apparent suicide discovered near Gothic on Wednesday

A 46-year-old Boulder, Colorado man apparently committed suicide Wednesday at a campsite just north of Gothic.

According to the Mt. Crested Butte police department, Clayton Lantz, who was born October 22, 1970, was “found deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at a disbursed campsite approximately one mile north of the Gothic Townsite.”

Mr. Lantz’s family has been notified of his passing.
