Another board meeting set for December 17

The Gunnison County Metropolitan Recreation District board of directors held a special meeting on Friday, December 7 and set a 1.0 mill levy for 2019. According to district manager Lori Patin, that should generate $528,108 for Gunnison County collections and $1,653 for Saguache County.
Patin said the board approved an amended 2018 budget and looked at the 2019 budget. “Notable changes to the 2019 budget included moving $86,000 from a capital reserve account to an expendable line item, capital outlay, for equipment expenses related to the operation of the television translator system.”
Patin said a motion was also passed at the meeting to provide a 2.6 percent cost of living wage adjustment for permanent staff, including operations and district managers. Patin said personnel issues were not discussed at this meeting.
The board has scheduled a meeting for 6 p.m. on Monday, December 17 to consider the amended 2019 budget and look at future strategic planning. That meeting will be held at the Fred Field House at the county fairgrounds in Gunnison.
