Elevation Hotel changes hands

A major real estate transaction at the Mt. Crested Butte Base Area closed on Monday, August 1. A Dallas-based hospitality company, WoodHouse, purchased the Elevation Hotel and Spa from the Boxer Property Group with the intention of “reimagining” the property to make it more reflective of the local community.

WoodHouse has properties in Dallas, Houston and Miami and this will be its first property in Colorado. WoodHouse founder and CEO Brady Wood has visited Crested Butte for years and he is excited about the potential of a big property at the base of the CBMR ski lifts.

“For decades, my family and I have frequented Crested Butte and the greater Colorado area,” he said. “This is home to many special memories for us and we’re honored to help steward the Elevation into its next chapter.”

As part of the celebration to mark the sale, WoodHouse will open a pop-up restaurant later in August featuring a concept and food from its award winning restaurant, José, that located in Dallas.

Find out more details of the transaction and future plans for the property in this week’s edition of the Crested Butte News.
