Alpine contract extension granted

The RTA board of directors agreed to give the nod to the final extension of the contract with Alpine Express to run the RTA bus system. It is the last extension in the contract that was signed in 2018. RTA executive director Scott Truex said he was starting to compile the information needed to put together a Request for Proposals for next year to solicit bids to run the bus system. He did admit he was a fan of working with Alpine. “I am very, very impressed with what Alpine has been able to do with our expanded service,” he said.

Revenue alert

Truex said the sales tax revenues that fund the RTA are flat for the year. While February saw a small bump over 2023, he said March was down 3.2%. “I’m definitely keeping an eye on that trend,” he said.

CB South road repair

The RTA will help with road repairs in front of the Crested Butte South bus stop. That road is failing in spots so the CB South Metro district and POA will also help to fix it. The RTA has committed $60,000 to the project that should take place in July or August.

Stuff:
