Community Rebuilds to build in spring
The affordable housing pilot project slated for the Prospect Homestead subdivision will get started next spring. Community Rebuilds, the nonprofit that spearheaded the idea, hoped to put the foundation in the ground this fall. Given the arrival of winter, the schedule was adjusted.
October sales tax above budget
According to town manger Joe Fitzpatrick, October sales tax collection was 6 percent above budget. That’s below 2014 but year to date, sales tax collection is 6.5 percent, or $109,000, above budget.
Cleaning up code
Council is moving forward with a cleanup of codes regarding cleanup deposits for building and excavation deposits. Some have remained unclaimed for more than three years, and the language is being revised to make the process more clear.
Spreading holiday cheer
In response to a request from chamber director Dave Ochs, the Mt. Crested Butte Town Council agreed to share 35 string lights with the town of Crested Butte. They’re not required for the Mt. Crested Butte tree and Ochs said they would help the other town’s tree look less like a Charlie Brown tree.
Chamber partnership
Council voted to continue its agreement with the Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Chamber of Commerce to conduct visitor center services at the base area of the ski resort and related marketing and promotions.
