Cause of death under investigation

A 52-year-old man from Washington, Iowa died on the Taylor River on June 21 while on a commercial rafting trip with Gunnison-based Scenic River. The man was not in a boat when death occurred, said Gunnison County Sheriff Rick Besecker.
The incident is currently under investigation, which is standard procedure according to the sheriff’s office. Scenic River Tours declined to comment on the incident while it is under investigation.
