CBMR looking to summer for early pass sale

“No one will miss out on savings”

With only three weeks left to the ski season, you may be thinking about next year and planning for the early season pass sale at Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR). But skiers looking to get a jump on the best prices of the season will need to wait. This year, the spring pass sale will be a summer pass sale.

According to Erica Reiter, CBMR’s director of public relations and communications, pass prices for the 2013-2014 ski season have not yet been determined. The resort is waiting for the close of this year’s season to analyze pass performance and determine the lineup for next winter.
“We offered a few new products into the mix [this winter] and need to analyze their performance,” Reiter said. “March is a busy month with potentially lots of use on seasonal products, so we have elected to wait. More time is required to analyze the complete product mix to make the best decisions for CBMR and for all of our guests.”
Reiter said the resort has not yet set a release date, and the shift doesn’t necessarily reflect a decline or change in the way people took advantage of the early season pass sale. The resort simply wants to enter next season with the most fitting products possible.
At this time, Reiter is not anticipating big changes in the offering but did emphasize that skiers can still anticipate discounts when rates are released this summer.
“The best rates will be offered upon release of the season pass product line-up. No one will miss out on savings,” Reiter said.
