Town watching the zipline and other Irwin proposals
The town is keeping an eye on the Scarp Ridge master plan that has been submitted to the county Planning Commission by the Irwin Eleven Group. It calls for extensive additions on the property near Lake Irwin, the property where winter snow-cat tours take place with The Eleven group. The summer improvements call for a pavilion, several homes, bike trails, some roads and ziplines. The town has been communicating with the project managers since the projects are located in the Crested Butte watershed protection district. The town will send a letter to the Planning Commission outlining various comments.
Plant the money tree next time
Council approved $17,295 in spring and summer grants. The town received $64,900 in requests. No entity received its full request. “It’s too bad money doesn’t grow on trees,” said mayor Aaron Huckstep. “There are a lot of good projects out there, like the film festival.”

The town is getting ready to shift over and let people choose to get their utility bills via e-mail.
The Marshals have hired an officer to replace the retiring Jack Crumpton. The new marshal will be on the street in mid-August.
The council approved the town audit.
