We are in the midst of election season. With the mail ballot, the season begins sooner than ever and you should see a ballot in a couple of days. They hit the mailboxes on October 15.

The Crested Butte News is holding a Candidates Forum on Sunday, October 21 that will feature the two candidates for Gunnison county commissioner, Bob Schutt and Roland Mason, along with the two candidates for Gunnison county sheriff, John Gallowich and Mark Mykol.

The format is set up to give citizens a chance to directly question those who want to represent them. We want you to ask the questions of the candidates. Moderated by Denis B. Hall, the forum will begin at 6 p.m. at the Crested Butte Center for the Arts and will be broadcast live on KBUT public radio.

The News is now asking questions of the candidates every week through October, so if you have a question you’d like us to ask, email it to: editorial@crestedbuttenews.com.
